Just a quick note to say that I am still working! I'm still around. I just haven't been updating here often. If you'd like to see my newest work as it's released, please visit my facebook page:

The last 6 months

I think by now, most of us have realized that blogging is just not one of my talents. As always I will try to be better, but for now, here is a little catch up. I have been busy the past 6 months and nothing really makes me happier.

Actually, I'm coming up on my 5 year anniversary. It's still so odd to know that I've had this business of mine for 5 years now. With all the ups and downs, slow times and happy.. I'm just so proud to still be doing what I love and capturing moments for people. I will be rolling out some specials to celebrate, so please check back.

ATTENTION MINI SESSION CLIENTS!

I have to make a slight change to the outdoor location for this weekend’s mini sessions. I have been informed that maintenance work will be taking place at the location I was planning on using. I have decided to move the sessions only a couple of minutes away. I am so sorry for this inconvenience. I have emailed a new map to those that have booked.

Back to School Minis

Ah back to school time. The official signal that Summer is coming to an end and Autumn is approaching. My kiddo loves this time, starting a new grade and having many new things to learn. She's filled with excitement. We homeschool, so traditional school photos aren't always an option. I find this to be much more fun anyway. Some time outside, dressed up, with her favorite books and a schoolish setting. I love being able to really showcase who she is at the beginning of the school year. Kids grow and change so quickly.

I'm offering a special for you to get your own back to school mini sessions. To get all of the details, check out the specials page.

Summer Catchup

I get behind in blogging and updating my website. Facebook is updated often and this gets forgotten sometimes. Sorry.

Summer is winding down, with only a couple of sessions left until Autumn hits, I figured that it would be wonderful to do a post combining spring and summer.

I have been busy, and it has been lovely. Really, I cannot wait to see more beautiful faces and capture more memories.

I hope that I'll see everyone in Autumn!

A Gift For Mom - Edmonton Family Photography

I met this family on a chilly day in a snowy park for a special gift session. A gift of memories for mom. What better present could you think of? Full of smiles and laughter we set off through the snow to get some family pictures.

Winter Baby - Edmonton Stylized Child Photography

Do you recognize this baby? I was lucky enough to photograph her when she was a newborn (as well as her big brother and many family sessions!) and she came to visit me this winter to do a special styled shoot.

Isn't she just the sweetest little angel?! Thank you for bringing your smiles and giggles!

50 Years - Edmonton Event Photography

50 Years...

That is one heck of an anniversary milestone. How do two people get to 50 years? Through all the joy, pain, sadness, happiness, excitement, and adventures that those years provide? These two know the secret and their friends and family gathered to help them celebrate it. We shared memories, smiles, laughter, and tears. Thank you for welcoming me into your happiness.

Little Dreamer - Edmonton Newborn Photography

This little guy definitely made me work. It was a bit of a flash back to when my own daughter was a tiny newborn. He wanted to be held by constantly and settling wasn't something that came easily to him, especially for traditional posed shots. We had to get creative, but it definitely shows why I book so much time for these sessions. Babies have their own schedules.

Little Brother - Edmonton Newborn Photography

Back to blogging. Sorry it's been so long. Between shooting, editing, homeschooling, and regular real life stuff, blogging has fallen to the wayside.

I started my new year off with this little ball of cuteness and his adorable family!

Isn't he just the cutest little guy?! And so snuggly. I don't imagine these quiet moments lasting long before he's off and running with his big brother.

Black Friday Sale!

Black Friday is here! And with it, a little something special!

From Friday until Midnight on Monday buy 1 gift certificate and get a second one (of equal value) FREE!

Gift Certificates can be of any value and are able to be used on any session, the only exception being weddings.

Give the gift of a session and get one for yourself!

Catching up!

I have so much blogging to catch up on. For right now though I have updated all of the albums with the latest sessions. I hope that you will enjoy looking through them!

Grade One - Edmonton Child Photography

My daughter is starting Grade One this year. How did we even reach this point? Time passes too quickly sometimes, and it's why I try to capture it.

I am homeschooling her, and so I am the one to take her official school type pictures. Honestly, I don't think any session has ever captured her more perfectly.

Evening On Whyte - Edmonton Family Photography

A month ago I did a session with 3 pretty spectacular people. Seriously, have you ever seen anyone pull off effortless impossibly cool like these 3? I'm doubtful that you have. I am biased in this case though, as I've known this family for 10 years now. The kids were so little before, memories flooding my mind of long drives out of the city. They have grown into such awesome individuals. Their mom is pretty spectacular herself, and is definitely one of my favorite people.

Welcome - Edmonton Newborn Photography

If you've been following my work for awhile, you will recognize this family. I first met them when I took baby photos of their son, and I've been happy to watch him grow from baby to toddler and now to big brother.

I got to meet this little sweetie last weekend. At only a few days old, she was so tiny, but feisty. Awake for the entire session and only comfortable in the safe arms of her family, we had fun just capturing these fleeting moments.

This newborn stage never lasts long, being a little baby seems to pass in front of our eyes too quickly.

For The Birds - Edmonton Engagement Photography

"I once asked an old man: which is more important, to love or be loved? He replied: which is more important to a bird, the left wing or the right wing?"

In a week, these two crazy kids will be married, and I am the lucky photographer who gets to capture the memories.

Adorably awkward, their main request for their engagement shoot was to include the geese.

So on a sunny spring day, we went for a walk.

The geese had their babies so we couldn't get too close, but they did allow us to be near enough to include them.

Frozen - Edmonton Fairytale Photography

Do you wanna build a snowman?

The songs have been stuck in the heads of kids and parents alike for months, even writing that sentence has put that particular song in my head.

In short, I couldn't have been more thrilled to get a visit from little Anna and Elsa!

Elsa even made the snow appear briefly, the cold may not bother her, but it certainly gets to her sister Anna. Though really, Anna was more concerned with her lunch, which was of course, sandwiches!

If only Olaf and Sven would have made an appearance. Though I figure that Olaf was probably sunning himself somewhere nice. Sven was probably sneaking carrots while Kristoff was working selling ice.

Autumn Dream A Custom Fairytale - Edmonton Fairytale Photographer

A couple of years ago, I created this little story after a shoot in autumn woods with my daughter. I wanted to transfer it to this blog awhile ago, but time ran away with me and soon the memory followed. For those wanting an example of a custom made fairy tale, here you go!

Once upon a time, in a land not far from your window's view, a little girl went for a walk on an Autumn day.

The leaf strewn path led her deeper and deeper into the enchanted wood. She followed along until her strength began to weaken. She wished the fae to lead her to a spot where she could rest her head.

Against the trunk of a very wise tree, the girl fell into a peaceful slumber...

and awoke, a Princess.

Welcomed greatly by the spirits and tiny creatures, she began her reign.

Wise and just, she ruled the Autumn wood with an incomparable grace.

But heavy is the head that wears the crown. Soon the little Princess longed to return to her home and family.

Quite suddenly, she woke. Her body still against the tree from which she had first slumbered.

But she could not forget her kingdom, and so before heading home after her very long journey the once Princess explored that which was hers to guard.

For if she should ever wish to return,

she only had to seek ...

 and dream...

of her kingdom in the Autumn Wood.

Awakening And Decay - Edmonton Child Photography

My parents have a lot of old cars. Some are fully together, waiting for new life. Some are pieces, remnants of the past. They sit, memories gathering dust.

These old memories, there is beauty in them. This decay makes a most lovely backdrop.

And there is something so hopeful about the trees growing up around them. This forest, rising.
